Journalist safety app-user research

We're building J-SOS (working title) — a mobile safety app for journalists, photographers, filmmakers, and the organizers and advocates who work alongside them, with a one-tap SOS, encrypted messaging, and full offline access to safety guides.

It's produced by Authority Collective with Aegis Safety Alliance, funded by the Reynolds Journalism Institute. We're in early design and want the people who'll actually use it to shape it — this brief is about 10 questions and ~5 minutes, open through July 5, 2026. We'll share a summary with everyone who participates.
